A durable, high quality floor heating system that warms your home evenly and efficiently, with no maintenance required.

Absolutely no risks of burning or electric shock as there are no open flames or hot surfaces for children to touch.  Furthermore, the lack of moving air means no airborne allergens or dry air, creating a much healthier living climate for asthmatics and allergy sufferers.

Heaters are hidden, leaving you free to plan your space the way you want to.  This means no aesthetic compromise on interior design.

Our customers' satisfaction is based on electrical safety, an improvement in air quality and comfort levels, plus a healthier living environment.

SpeedHeat heaters can be installed under; ceramic & porcelain tiles, natural stone, slate & marble, solid wood, laminates & vinyl, coloured & natural screed, fitted carpets & rugs.

Install KlimaBoard Floor Insulation with SpeedHeat Underfloor Heating. Without floor insulation a great part of the heat created by the underfloor heating is lost downwards into the concrete slab. With floor insulation installed, the heat is reflected upwards, resulting in an increase in warming up speed of your floor of up to 3 times faster.  Floor insulation improves your comfort and reduces energy wastage.

Safest and Healthiest Way to Heat Your Home! Different Types of Underfloor Heating

Tile and stone are ideal types of flooring to use with an underfloor heating system. All are excellent heat conductors, do not expand and contract a lot with heat and are highly resistant to warping or cracking, making porcelain, ceramic, or stone tiles a good choice for floor covering over radiant heating.

The heating systems are 100% safe and waterproof. This makes Speedheat ultimately suitable for wet areas like bathrooms or kitchens.

Natural stone flooring types (marble, slate, travertine, limestone, sandstone, granite, onyx) turn comfortably warm with the radiant heating system, bringing you comfort without compromising your choice of flooring.

Floor Heating Under Tiles

This modern solution is durable, reliable and safe.  The below diagram shows a typical Speedheat under tile floor build-up with insulation (10mm KlimaBoard).

The heating element is installed on top of insulation boards or insulated screed, and secured with adhesive fibreglass mesh. A protective screed is then applied and the floor is subsequently tiled.  It is important that some form of insulation be installed either on top of the builder's screed, or by using an insulating screed.  Insulation decreases downward heat flow into the concrete slab, thereby improving the response time and efficiency of your heating system.

Floor Heating Under Laminate Flooring

Speedheat electric floor heating heats your laminate floor evenly and economically.

All Speedheat laminate installations include a floor probe for floor temperature limitation.  The floor surface is limited to the maximum allowable temperature of 27 degrees (in accordance with the SA Wood and Laminate Association’s specifications).

This ensures that laminate flooring preserves and maintains its aesthetic appearance without buckling or warping.  The below diagram shows a typical Speedheat under wood/laminate floor build-up with insulation (10mm KlimaBoard).

Our under laminate heaters are sandwiched between a high quality PET reinforced aluminium foil and a woven PP layer.  The bottom layer (PET reinforced aluminium foil) is specially designed for even heat distribution and downward heat flow reduction, the top layer (woven PP layer) is designed to promote radiation, resulting in your laminated floor being heated evenly and effectively.

This is a dry application (also known as a removable installation) where the heating element is placed just underneath the wood/laminate flooring on top of a foam underlay.  Insulation may be used on top of the screed to further decrease downward heat loss and  increase the performance of your heating system.

A poured cement floor gives your home a contemporary and modern design appearance. The screed is a good choice for a household with children, pets or people with respiratory problems like asthma.

Speedheat floor heating is the best for your screed flooring; it compliments your modern design with no visible heaters, whilst contributing to a healthy environment by preventing circulation of airborne dust and other allergens.

Polished screeds are also one of the best types of flooring for floor heating as they are very conductive.  The below diagram shows a typical Speedheat under screed floor build-up with insulation (10mm KlimaBoard).

The heating element is installed on top of insulation boards or insulated screed, and secured with adhesive fibreglass mesh, similar to the under tile installation. A protective screed is then applied and the floor is subsequently screeded.

Insulation decreases downward heat loss into the cement slab, therefore increasing the efficiency and response time of your heating system.  Our insulation boards also act as a de-coupling membrane to reduce the potential for hairline expansion cracks.  Poured flooring suppliers are very satisfied with the Speedheat finish. The installer finishes the floor solid, neat and smooth.

Floor Heating Under Carpet

Speedheat electric floor heating panels heat your carpets economically and safely.  They are quickly and easily installed under existing or new carpets.

The diagram below shows a typical Speedheat under carpet floor build-up.  Similar to the under laminate heaters, the under carpet heaters are sandwiched between  a high quality PET reinforced aluminium foil and a woven PP layer.

The bottom layer (PET reinforced aluminium foil) is specially designed for even heat distribution and downward heat flow reduction, the top layer (woven PP layer) is specially designed to promote radiation, resulting in your carpets being heated evenly and effectively without overheating or hot spots.

A dry application (also known as removable installation) where the under carpet heating element is placed on top of  the underfelt or foam underlay, just underneath the carpet. The underfelt or foam underlay acts as an insulator reducing downward heat loss, increasing the efficiency of the heating system.

Thermostats

The thermostat is an important part of your Speedheat electric floor heating system. The thermostat is jointly responsible for the improvement of your comfort of living and the reduction in energy consumption. With Speedheat every room can be independently controlled with a programmable thermostat.

The innovative Speedheat thermostat:

Speedheat has a number of high quality thermostats in their range. Choose a category to view the different thermostats available to you.  Your Speedheat consultant will be happy to advise you on the best thermostat for your requirements.

Floor Insulation

Without floor insulation a great part of the heat created by the underfloor heaters is lost downwards into the concrete slab.  With floor insulation installed, most of the heat is reflected upwards, resulting in an increase in warming up speed of your floor of up to 3 times. Floor insulation improves your comfort and reduces energy wastage.

Speedheat advises three types of high quality insulation for renovations depending on the available build-up height:

KlimaBoard 5  mm:  your floor warms up 2.5 times faster!

KlimaBoard 10 mm: your floor warms up 3 times faster!
